Moscow is getting ready to host the Italy-Russia Film Festival (RIFF) which will involve a selection of movies coming straight from the Ischia Film Festival.
From the 1st to 13th of November, the Oktyabr , a cinema of the KARO chain, with the support of the Moscow’s Culture Department and the Italian Embassy , will host the third edition of the Italian-Russian Cinema Festival (RIFF), dedicated to the film fiction, documentary and short film. This would be the most important event of Russia in autumn and it will be dedicated to the Italian cinema.
The Film Festival program has been designed to present the best contemporary Italian cinema, from the box office movies to rare art-movies, appreciated by the most discerning cinema lovers. The program features 25 films, among all the winners of regional Italian or international film festivals, including 5 masterpieces proposed by the Ischia Film Festival and selected by its artistic director Michelangelo Messina. These films have been shown rarely in the Russian movie theaters, so each show will feature a première on Russian soil.
This is the eco-friendly film" In grazia di Dio“ by Edoardo Winspear who tells the story of a mother and her daughters, who decide to move over, in order to live in the countryside and dedicate to agriculture; the movie was awarded with the GrandPress Prize. All the movies have been screened at The Ischia Film Festival.
All the plays will be proposed in Italian with Russian subtitles and delivered to the biggest Russian distributors. As an important event dedicated to the strengthening of cultural ties between Russia and Italy, the festival is organized and supported by the Department of Culture in Moscow, the Italian Embassy , the Italian Cultural Institute, the Italo-Russian Chamber of Trade (CCIR) and the ICE Agency and consular project “La tua Italia” .
From 15th to 27th November, RIFF Festival will move to Novosibirsk at the Pobeda cinema, and up to the 4th December, it will touch the Rodina cinema in St. Petersburg.
