Bille August Award opens North Europe Film Focus

Bille August Award with, Nachtzug nach Lissabon starring Jeremy Irons, will open the special Nord Europe focus,realized by Michelangelo Messina  in collaboration with the Nordische Filmtage Lübeck. Bille August, known for La casa degli spiriti (1993); Jerusalem (1996); Il senso di Smilla per la neve (1997); Il colore della libertà (2007); Marie Krøyer (2012), has won twice the Prize at Cannes as best film: in 1988 with Pelle alla conquista del  mondo, (that won best foreign award), and in 1992 with the film Con le migliori intenzioni, from an autobiographical scenography by Ingmar Bergman.

Ischia Film Festival through the screening of a film selection from Iceland, Danmark, Norway, Sweden and Lapland, proposes  the cultural identity of their authors. From those films there is the Iceland picture show Ravens, Buttercup and Myrrh by Eyrún Ósk Jónsdóttir and Helgi Sverrisson,. “A window on the Baltic sea, an homage to its directors, to their works and to the peculiarity of those locations” Michelangelo Messina says. Linde Fröhlich, the artistic director of the Nordische Filmtage Lubeck, will introduce the pictures show.

The Ischia Film Festival(June, 29 – July, 6) is realized thanks to Presidente della Repubblica, and supported by Regione Campania (Assessorato alla Cultura) - “La cultura come risorsa” and the  MiBAC - Direzione Generale Cinema, with the sponsorship  of Comune d’Ischia
